That last one has so much potential to be more. I’m going to transform it into a big piece. The imagery of us being lost in the lake and somebody fishing us out using their life line - it has legs that’s for sure!
This is a great song, just doesn’t ring true for me. Cancer is a lonely journey, and it becomes easy to isolate and grieve. I believe I live authentically, as what others think of me is usually not my business. But here ya go
wake up every day
living with uncertainty
takes the joy away
So I could just do a people pleasing, uplifting haiku inspired by the song, but just doing me.
Thanks. I didn’t connect with the music or the video, their lives seemed awful, even the “happy” bits. I spotted the first guy with shades on and it reminded me of times I’ve genuinely connected with people. I thought, he looks ok.
Enough melody
to drag my bones from hiding
and move once again.
—
You need to hear it
even when you’re convinced you don’t.
I think you are great.
—
The looming dimness
with outbursts of blinding light.
There is still hope left.
—
It’s funny really
how people become life lines -
they use love as bait.

It just exhausts me
Looking at this video
She really needs rest
I arrive and leave
In the dark, desk-bound, sky-less
Outside , the earth turns
//
Maybe we can just
Be together in silence
You with the grey hair
Maybe we will find
All the odd things about us
We have in common
Maybe we could go
And sit on a bench, sunlit
But keep our shades on

Spunky funky voice
Spaghetti western guitar
Yes I think you're great
Just the way you are
Past the coffee shop counter
On happy sad days
Debbie
In all this crazy rush
Detach yourself and rejoice.
You are everything.
Dimples and dark eye
A pleasing smile, formal suit
Hair down end of day
/
Sound of strummed guitar
Laughter ringing around friends
Shoulder lean, you’re great
/
The beat of the drum
Echoes the dance of my heart
Celebrating me (Because I am great…)
